Electroceuticals is a recently coined term that broadly encompasses all bioelectronic medicine that employs electrical stimulation to affect and modify functions of the body. Clinical neural implants such as cochlear implants to restore hearing, retinal implants to restore sight, spinal cord stimulators for pain relief or cardiac pacemakers and implantable defibrillators are conventional examples of electroceuticals.
More recent varieties of electroceuticals include the electrical stimulation of the vagus nerve to modulate the immune system in order to provide relief from rheumatoid arthritis and prevent epileptic seizures. We at Electroceutics take this a few steps further. In 1996, Terry Skrinjar invented the first commercially available Bio-Electric device designed specifically to affect the body through the medium of water via programmed electrical stimulus. This approach was initially seen as fringe medicine and voodoo science until recently.
Dr. Marcy Cain Purnell tested the system in a laboratory environment on cancerous material and found that it had a profound effect on these cells. These findings have now spawned a new and exciting era in electroceuticals and biotechnology. Research conducted by Dr. Purnell and Mr. Skrinjar yielded the following research papers.
